Your Adirondack Basecamp

The Schroon Lake region is the gateway to many of the historical and educational landmarks found in the Adirondacks. Take a trip to the Adirondack Experience Museum, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake to see canoes, carriages, rustic furnishings, antique motorboats, Winslow Homer paintings, and much more. Right in the village of Schroon Lake, you can also take a historic boat tour, or take a step back in time to the era of Great Camps at the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society—only open in the summer months. Here you'll find military records, old photographs, maps, and other archived materials that show how the region has evolved through time.
