Keep busy in the Schroon Lake Region

It's easy to plan a vacation itinerary while visiting the Adirondacks! Schroon Lake is a great access point to all the Adirondacks have to offer. You can enjoy the many Adirondack attractions and activities whether you're staying a few days or a week! Consider a visit to the Adirondack Interpretive Center at Newcomb or choose to explore the Natural Stone Bridge and Caves. There's plenty to see and do in the Schroon Lake region.

Art Deco treasures and Hollywood history

Experience a nostalgic treat while in Schroon in the charm of a local and historic movie theater. Plan to visit Schroon Lake's Strand Theatre, which has been in operation for more than 70 years, for a classic movie watching experience.

In addition to the many events and attractions of the Schroon Lake region, visitors have the opportunity to walk through old Hollywood at the Scaroon Manor Resort, now converted to a NYS DEC campground. The Scaroon Manor Resort and Camp Red Wing of Schroon were featured in the movie "Marjorie Morningstar" and graced with stars Natalie Wood, Gene Kelley, Carolyn Jones, and Ed Wynn. The site was also featured in the popular film "The Last of the Mohicans".

Schroon Lake's history of film and theater is still present today. With various theatrical productions and events, your Adirondack lake vacation is certain to be filled with entertainment and activity!
