Falling in love with the Hub
Autumn in the Adirondack Hub has to be experienced to be believed. Stunning colors dot the landscape, while cool nights allow for plenty of s’mores to be cooked on the campfire. With countless adventures to be had on trails and waterways, harvest time in the hub is also when our quaint towns show their local flavors. So take a scenic drive, spend a couple of nights, or go all-out on the trails.
What to do
The Hub delivers during the fall, with endless options for fun. Autumn camping at remote backcountry sites, or glamping at locations like The Lodge at Schroon Lake, are just a couple examples of sites to suit every taste. During the day, take a hike and explore the endless network of trails. You could try a historical hike from Upper Works, or an interpretive nature trail at the Adirondack Interpretive Center. The extensive wilderness also makes for fantastic hunting grounds during the fall season.
With no bugs to speak of, crisp blue skies, and countless colors hanging off of every tree, paddling in the fall is unbelievably fun. Choose from large lakes like Schroon and Paradox, or a backcountry gem like Boreas Ponds! All of this, and more, can be found in The Upper Hudson Recreation Hub, which is comprised of five towns that surround the headwaters of one of the world’s most famous rivers, the Hudson.
