North Hudson

Perhaps the most beautiful road in Essex County is located in North Hudson. Boreas Road (County Route 2) winds its way past spectacular natural wonders including Blue Ridge Falls and the roaring Boreas River.

Elk Lake lies north of the road, with over 12,000 primitive acres with numerous trailheads to the high peaks. Campers are served by excellent campground facilities, including the State campsite at Sharp Bridge, which was the first of its kind to be built by the Conservation Department.
