A Wilderness Experience

Described by National Geographic as "the jewel of the Adirondacks," Elk Lake is the centerpiece of a 12,000 acre privately owned forest preserve set in the heart of the High Peaks Region. On the shores of this island-dotted mountain lake is Elk Lake Lodge, offering a quiet, comfortable and relaxing wilderness experience. Guests are accommodated in either the main lodge or one of the eight private cottages close by. The lodge offers six comfortable rooms, each with twin beds and private bath. Evenings can be spent in our spacious and attractive living room in front of the crackling fire. The cottages, which vary in size, offer seclusion for couples and larger groups. All have living rooms, modern baths and cold spring water for drinking. Some have kitchens and fireplaces. Meals are prepared by our experienced staff and served in the dining room at the main lodge. Guests dine by the fire, overlooking our beautiful lake with its panoramic views of Boreas, Colvin, Nippletop, Dix and Macomb mountains.
